Flippingbrilliant started in 2016 as a single second-hand espresso machine, a stack of borrowed cups and a stubborn belief that a neighbourhood deserves a proper coffee. What began as a pop-up on a Berlin market stall quickly outgrew its tent.
In 2018 we found our home on Kastanienallee, a sunlit corner in Prenzlauer Berg, and got to work. We knocked through walls, salvaged old timber, planted far too many ferns and opened our doors to the regulars who would become our extended family.
Today we are still the same café at heart: independent, a little obsessive about the details, and endlessly happy to see you walk through the door.

Beans are roasted in small batches by friends here in Berlin, so what you sip is never more than a couple of weeks from the roaster.
Eggs, dairy, bread and produce come from suppliers within the region. We bake our pastries and cakes fresh in-house each day.
